Julianne Appel-Opper

Julianne Appel-Opper studied psychology in Germany and qualified in 1988. Her subsequent psychotherapy training in Integrative Gestalt Psychotherapy took place at the German Fritz Perls Institute. From 1989 until 1993, she worked as a clinical psychologist/ psychotherapist in psychosomatic clinics. Since 1999 she has had her own practice, first in the U.K. and then after 2006 in Germany. For 12 years she lived and worked in France, USA, Israel and U.K. In 2002 she qualified as supervisor at the University of Birmingham and, since 2003, she has been a UKCP registered Integrative and Gestalt Psychotherapist. From 2004 to 2006 Julianne took part in a CPD (continuous professional development) group in Dialogical Gestalt Psychotherapy. From 2002 to 2006 she joined an ongoing CPD group focusing on concepts of Relational, Intersubjective Psychoanalysis/ Psychotherapy and psychotherapy-relevant neurobiological studies. In 2006 she gained the qualification as Psychological Psychodynamical Psychotherapist (Approbation, Arzteintrag). Since 2001 she has worked internationally as a trainer. She has been a visiting tutor at several psychotherapy training institutes internationally. Julianne has developed the 'Relational Living Body Psychotherapy' which she has taught internationally and written about.
